I started building tools to solve my own problems.
An email triage agent that reads my inbox, categorizes what matters, and drafts replies. A meeting notes analyzer that extracts action items from transcripts. A diagram editor I can describe in plain English and watch it generate production-ready architecture diagrams.
Each app was independent. Each ran locally on my own hardware via Ollama. Each had its own auth, its own database, its own UI. They worked. But they did not talk to each other.
So I built the thing I actually needed: a consent router.
MyOwnLifeOS is not a platform. It does not centralize your data. It stores nothing of value. It is a lightweight routing layer that asks one question: which apps have you chosen to connect?
Default is OFF. Active consent only.
When you link inbox0 to MyOwnLifeOS, the Pomodoro timer on your focus dashboard suddenly knows which emails you marked "must reply" in your last sweep. It surfaces them as suggested tasks, prioritized, account-aware. Switch from your work Gmail to your personal account, and the task list switches with you. One sync button, and your latest sweep loads fresh.
The architecture matters here:
- Server-to-server JWT auth. No session cookie dependency.
- Two-way sync with rollback. If the remote link fails, the local link reverts.
- Each app remains sovereign. Unlink MyOwnLifeOS and the app works exactly as before.
- Case-insensitive email lookups (RFC-compliant, because that actually broke login once).
- Invite gates that only apply to new users. Existing admins never get locked out.
These are not theoretical features. They are fixes for real auth edge cases I hit while dogfooding.
What started as a single Python script for email triage has become a five-app local-first suite with shared dark theming, cross-app analytics, PWA offline support, and a consent model I actually trust.
Where it goes next:
- Agent orchestration. A meta-agent that reads your triaged "must" list, checks your calendar via the summarizer, and suggests which focus sessions to schedule.
- Voice interface. Dictate a diagram description while in a Pomodoro break and pick it up later in DrawmaticAI.
- Self-healing deployments. If an app goes offline, the router queues requests and replays them on recovery.
The goal is not a walled garden. It is a garden where every plant grows on its own, and the soil just helps them share water when you say yes.
