1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MyOwnLifeOS ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
MyOwnLifeOS is operated by Ovais Quraishi ("Operator," "we," "our"). These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and the Operator.
2. Description of Service
MyOwnLifeOS is a consent router — a lightweight hub that enables cross-app intelligence between independent, self-hosted applications. It is not a data store, content platform, or cloud service. The Service stores only routing metadata (which applications you have connected) and never stores your emails, meeting notes, diagrams, code, calendar events, or any content from connected applications.
The Service is provided free of charge. There are no paid tiers, subscriptions, or commercial features.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
You must sign in using a Google account via OAuth to use the Service. By signing in, you represent that:
- You are at least 13 years of age (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction)
- The Google account you use belongs to you
- You will provide accurate and truthful information
Access to the Service may be restricted to invite-only signup at the Operator's discretion. If invite-only mode is active, you must possess a valid, unexpired invite token issued to your email address to create an account.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its server, or any connected systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks
- Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or harmful code
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Attempt to access data belonging to other users
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.
5. Application Connections and Consent
MyOwnLifeOS enables you to connect independent applications (e.g., inbox0, Summarizer, DrawmaticAI) to enable cross-app features. The following principles govern all connections:
- Opt-in only: All connections default to OFF. You must explicitly choose to connect each application.
- Revocable: You may sever any connection at any time, for any reason, with immediate effect.
- App sovereignty: Each connected application works independently without MyOwnLifeOS. Connecting is optional and never required.
- No data centralization: Your content remains in the source application. MyOwnLifeOS queries connected apps in real time and forgets results immediately.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Service IP: The MyOwnLifeOS name, logo, branding, website design, and source code are the intellectual property of the Operator. The source code is available under its applicable open-source license.
6.2 Your Content: MyOwnLifeOS does not store your content. All content you create, upload, or process through connected applications remains your property and resides in those applications, governed by their respective terms.
6.3 Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by the Operator without restriction or obligation to you.
7. Third-Party Services and Linked Applications
The Service integrates with third-party services including Google OAuth (for sign-in) and Amplitude (for anonymous analytics). The Service also links to independent applications operated by the same Operator (inbox0, Summarizer, DrawmaticAI, OwnScribe, owncodereviewer, Gopher, Weekly, Almanac).
Each connected application has its own terms and privacy practices. MyOwnLifeOS is not responsible for the content, functionality, or practices of any third-party service or connected application, even those operated by the same Operator.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Cross-app queries will always succeed or return accurate results
- Connected applications will remain available or functional
- Any defects or errors will be corrected
You use the Service at your own risk. The Service is a personal project provided as a tool, not a commercial product with an uptime SLA.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PRODUCTIVITY, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
The Operator's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed zero dollars ($0.00), as the Service is provided free of charge and stores no user content.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights
- Any content you process through connected applications
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may discontinue use of the Service at any time by signing out and ceasing to access the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting the Operator.
Upon termination, your account data and connection metadata will be deleted. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and indemnification) shall survive.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith informal negotiation before resorting to formal legal proceedings.
14. No Class Actions
You agree to resolve disputes with the Operator on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding against the Operator.
